Peter Hynes: Why we need to copy the UK and transform our big ag shows

Purpose-built venues like the Eikon Centre in Lisburn and the Yorkshire Showground have ramped up capacity at ag shows in Britain and the North, and can host events all year round

Showing our dairy herd has given us the opportunity to attend so many agricultural shows in Ireland and the UK over the last few years.

As our daughters began to master the skill of showmanship, they have competed at bigger shows as well as at the rural ones where they learnt their trade. The agricultural shows across Ireland always have a fantastic social scene and bring communities together.
